Blog #6 English Language Challenges

My experience learning English goes back to my ten years, when i started receiving lessons at my school. I learned the numbers and the verb “to be”, i think the school's methodology did not suit me much, therefore, i did not learn much. Later, i got to know music in English and i learned a little more, my vocabulary got bigger. In high school, my learning was similar to school, the same things were taught, all focused on grammar, if I read something I could understand it better than listening, something completely unnatural. Today, i believe that learning a language is better if it is through the ear.

Learning at university has been better than in my previous experiences, i think i have been able to have access to better teachers and that has helped me a lot. During this year, 2020, the classes have been online, which has made learning a lot through speaking and listening. This factor is great, it suits me a lot like that, however, my speaking level is still much lower than writing, i think it is due to my learning experiences in the past.

Blogs have turned out to be complex for me in some aspects, it is not easy to write in English, but i see them necessary, it helps us a lot to practice writing and expand our vocabulary.

The aspects that i need to improve are speaking, i think it is the most important and difficult part of the language and I would love to practice it more. Maybe i would take private lessons to practice it, with a teacher of my liking.

I am currently using English to acquire new knowledge of my artistic discipline, there is an internet page called tone base, there are many guitar teachers who teach in English, in addition to the page it does not have subtitles so I try to listen and understanding, it has helped me a lot to learn English and Guitar at the same time.
